Introduction
We lived next to Köves-bérc (a nice hill next to Pilis mountains) - actually we could see it from our window -, that is where the first part of our kennel name came; the second part, "betyár" comes from the nature of our dog (meaning rogue) as they are nice, but naughty :)
I am Viktória Maczák. My son, Soma Horváth and me own this kennel together. Basically it is due to Soma that we started to keep mudis. He was the one who chose Vihar, our first mudi - or rather Vihar chose him - and they did not rest until we took Vihar away from Nyíregyháza. As Soma still studies, I am the one who works mainly with the dogs - all administration is mine and most of the physical part as well.
I graduated at the Semmelweis University, Budapest in 1991, as a general doctor. I worked at the emergency service after university for 3 years, than for 5 years at the National Institute of Rheumatology and Physiotherapy. In 1999 I started working in clinico-pharmacology in private practice. Mainly I was working in studies of central nerve system. At the same time I made my specialisation in psychotherapy with cognitive-behaviour orientation. I still work as a psychotherapeutist.
My relation to dogs is very old. Partly I am coded genetically, my father was a vet and my mum still has two mixed breed dogs at the moment. I got my first dog on the day of my birth, and Bogáncs, my black puli was my faithful friend for 14 years. I cannot live without dogs since that time, and when we visited the Nyírségfia kennel and Vihar became our dog, it was decided that mudis are the perfect dogs for me.
Each of our dogs belongs to one member of our family – this is always chosen by the dogs, usually crossing through our previous planning. Therefore we hope that the puppies born in our kennel will be happy family members at their new homes, as well.
