2026 started with great news!
05 March 2026, Birmingham CRUFTS - 1st for mudis!
Crufts is the most prestigious and oldest international dog show, it is held in England. This year, Mudis were able to participate for the first time, as the Royal Kennel Club recognized the breed last year. We were able to compete in the Any Variety Imported Breed Register, pastoral group on March 5th against many other breeds. I had been wanting to participate for a long time, so after qualifying we set off on the big trip. To my great delight, both our dogs performed very well,
Nyírségfia Gaia - 1st place in open class (out of 14 dogs) and Reserve Best Female in the Any Variety Imported Breed Register, pastoral group, making her the most successful Mudi at Crufts. I am incredibly proud of Gáia, who was a great success not only with her beauty but also with her kindness, because the next day we participated in the Discover Dogs breed introduction, where in the incredibly large crowd, among hundreds of breed stands, our 3 girls, Habó, Gaia and Gombóc, performed very well and won many fans for the breed.
Köves-bérci Betyár Góré Guru "Rigó" won 3rd place out of 15 dogs in the open class among males in the Any Variety Imported Breed Register, pastoral group, he was also the most successful Mudi in his class.
A few pictures and a short video of Gáia and Rigó's performance at the 2026 Crufts show.

Our primary goal in breeding is to keep the most important feature of the mudi breed: excellent working ability and temperament can go hand in hand with a nice typical look, because the sport and show lines have not been separated. |
