CHARACTER:
Báró (Duke) is the son of a beautiful couple: both parents are multi-champions. In spite of this his main strength is not his beauty, but his working ability. Though he is just a starter in agility, he can run much faster than the other dogs including those who were bred for sports, and if he once learns to bend! During the training he is very well focused, as if he would be a different dog, not the same who barked and ran up and down some minutes earlier. I did not want to keep a male dog from the puppies of Vihar, but I wanted to find an owner to Baró who will take him to shows and works with him as well. Unfortunately there was noone like this, so Báró stayed with us and I started agility with him, so we both are beginners. He is a devoted romantic dog full of energy –sometimes a bit more than wanted-, when we come home everybody is kissed by him, before we could say no. His need for action and movement is 10 times bigger than the average, during the walks he is the one who explores the fields. I hope we can work together with him for a long, active life. After the 2 very promising litters he had in 2015, we had mating rights in both, we made Báró castrated. So his line now is taken by our future hopes, especially by Kapitány and Legenda “Rugó”. The basic reason for castration was our comfort as our dogs are real family members living together and with us and as we have 3 females in breeding it was quite difficult to have an active stud with them and make continuous control not to mate with eachother when not needed… Báró had 4 litters and gave excellent puppies to our kennel, and this was all I wanted form him in breeding. Beside that when a male dog is older the danger of prostate and anal cancer will come, and this is for the fertile ones so castration is safer also from health point of view. In sum now he is a pet as he was and we can live in peace not needed to be guarded for each heat. So he is not participating directly in breeding anymore, but he is still the active member of the family.
